Journeys

Date taken: January 25, 2009
Location: Railroad tracks near NC State.

I want to go on a journey. I want to go somewhere far away, somewhere different and exciting to experience a life far from the norms of my own. The idea of staring a journey, not knowing how things will turn out or where I'll end up in the end is such an exciting concept to me, yet at the same time so incredibly scary.

This picture reminds me of something similar. Whether it's the beginning of a trip, the beginning of school, a relationship, a friendship, any new chapter in life, they all still have that scary unknown future, which makes the journey that much more exciting. Sometimes it's hard though, not knowing how something will turn out in the end, or what to expect. I'd like to say I'm someone who doesn't worry about the future, but there are many moments where I just really want to know the outcome and have total and complete control in what's to happen. However, as my favorite bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11, states, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future," we ultimately have no control over the plans for our lives. Although life may bring us challenges that we want so desperately to control, it's impossible. We have to put our complete faith in God that He will deliver for us the future that is best for us. The new chapters in our lives may seem like the long stretched out railroad tracks before us with an unknown ending, but God has the best possible outcome waiting for us, whether it's experiencing a different country such as Greece, graduating with a PhD, starting a marriage and a family, or experiencing a great long lasting friendship. Just learn to always trust in Him, and you'll have everything you ever could have asked for in life!

Ok, there goes post number one, sorry I'm not that experienced in blog writing, but I guess it can only go up from here :)

Adios fellow bloggers,
