Sick Day

This is NOT the time for me to get sick. This week is filled with meetings and assignments and other random things to do, but apparently my immune system doesn't care too much about that. So, this is me today...

Luckily I only had one class at 10:15 today that I managed to go to. Then I attempted to head into work for the rest of the afternoon, but after two hours I couldn't do much more. So now it's time to curl up in bed with my teddy bear and blanket and PASS OUT.

Say a little prayer that I wake up feeling better and not worse!

Just Showin' Off

I should be studying for a quiz that I have in about 2 hours, but instead I wanted to show off something that I am quite proud of to all of my lovely blog readers :) slash honestly, do I even have blog readers? probably not.

Yesterday, I spent the  majority of my night playing around with Photoshop to create a new watermark for my pictures. I'm still in the process of working on my website slash mainly getting pictures uploaded to the website, and part of this process includes updating all my pictures with a sweet new watermark. So, check it out...

It's not much, but that's why I like it. It's simple! And soon (hopefully) I will finally be done with my webpage and it will be amazing!

But for now I unfortunately have to study. Can't we just go to classes but not do any work outside of class? That'd be ideal. Or college without classes? Let me just call up the Dean real fast...

Pittsburgh's gon' to the SUPER BOWL

Words can't describe what I'm feeling right now! This is the happiest I've been in a long time. Is it sad that I am happiest when the Steelers win? Nah...

And this is what I think about the Packers...

Who's ready for Dallas?!

Let's make it SEVEN! HERE WE GO STEELERS!!!

PS Sorry for the Sports Obsession today. Now you've seen the real me... :)

Sports, Sports, Sports

Today is a very exciting day for a person like me.

12:00 - NC State basketball vs. Miami

6:30 - STEELERS vs. Jets (winner goes to the Super Bowl!)

Even my non-sporty roommate Hillary is just as excited...

Let's do it big today boys!

Some Things Never Change

Remember, way back when, when we thought it was cool to document our high school lives and our every immature thought in a xanga? (Come to think of it, I guess it's not much different from blogging now...) I took a nice little trip down memory lane today. Through all three of my xangas. Yes, that's right, three. It's embarrassing, I know.

During this little blast to the past I realized something. My views of certain things have not changed one bit.

Exhibit A:

I still have a school girl crush on Engin Atsur.

This was posted when I was 16, a Junior in High School. I can't say that those thoughts have changed at all. And when I met him at age 19, in my Sophomore year of College...I still almost fainted, just ask my friends. It was the greatest night of my life. (See a picture here)

Exhibit B:

I am still 100% obsessed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. And when we make it to the playoffs and play well in the playoffs, it's a big deal to me.

Exhibit C:

This is from September 2005, so please don't judge me and my 15 year old self...

I still love listening to Celine Dion music, even at age 21. And I still have that Christmas CD, and yes, I still listen to it. But at least I don't end my blogs with "Well thats my update...comment yo<3" anymore. Maybe I should start doing that again. I'll just go back to my 15 year old roots?

Without wanting to dig too much (I gotsta get to sleep!) that's all I have...for now. Unfortunately for you guys, I am not going to leave you guys with the link to my xanga. Trust me, you don't want to see that. Although Hillary and I did get a good laugh while reading all of my silly posts. The thoughts of a high schooler are so wonderful...

NC State Bucket List: Part 1

There are a lot of 'traditions' here at NC State and a lot of things that should be done before graduating, just like I'm sure there are at any college. Someone (or a group of someones?) compiled a list of 54 things to do at NC State before graduating. Because I am totally in love with being a student at NC State, I have made it my goal to do all of the things on the list! Luckily I've already done a majority of them, but the bolded ones are those that I still have to complete... enjoy part one :)

1. Run the Krispy Kreme Challenge. check!
Danella and I Sophomore year!

2. Paint the Free Expression Tunnel. check!

We supported our team all the way to Orlando!!

8. Get involved in a student organization. check!
9. Pull an all-nighter at D.H. Hill Library. okay so I have never actually been there the whole night, but I've come pretty close. I honestly don't think I will ever be there the whole night...staying until 2 is good enough for me.

Happy Monday!

It's Monday. And the first day of classes. But today actually wasn't bad at all. I only had two classes, one at 9:10 and one at 10:15 and they flew by. I was done by 11:05 (sweet!) and was supposed to go into work, but my mom was freaking out about the supposedly 'awful' weather and suggested that I work from home. Fine by me!

So before I continue, you should know that decorating my room has been a very long and drawn out process. I didn't have what I needed to hang the dry erase board above my desk, the 6 cute square mirrors above my dresser all eventually fell down (thanks wal-mart "mirror" tape), and the shelves that I had hung up in my last apartment are a downright PAIN to hang. But now, it is all done! And it's clean!

I finally got a real mirror that will actually stay hung up: (but unfortunately the nasty tape from the other mirrors is still stuck on my wall...)

And check it out, I finally got curtains too!

Instead of figuring out those obnoxious shelves, I decided to do something a little easier and I bought a book shelf. This is what went down today: I got home from class, snacked on a few things, then decided to head out to Target to buy the bookshelf that I found (for only $19.99!) online. So here's why I rock (calm down people I'm not that conceited, I'm only joking, sort of...): I went by myself. This sucker was heavy! I was kind of worried about it being heavy and me going alone and not being able to carry it, but I did it. I don't need no man!

And to top it off, I went home and assembled this bad boy all on my own, and look how gorgeous it is:

I love it! And it goes perfectly with my dresser and night stand.

Meanwhile, while I'm doing all of this building and cleaning and organizing, this is my roommate:

I guess we all can't have productive Monday's. Now to find myself some dinner...

Ciao!

When I grow up

When I was younger I always got asked the same question, "what do you want to be when you grow up?

What was my answer? Well of course... "I want to be a famous singer!" Yep, that's right. I always dreamed of being a famous singer when I was older. So realistic, I know.

But this dream was a huge part of my life when I was younger. In fact...I even had my own stage...

That's right, I stood on that piano bench and sang my little heart out. But no performance is complete without a microphone. So that's why I had this...

A whisk makes a perfect microphone. But all of this would be pointless without some amazing music to sing to.

Yessss...Celine Dion! My favorite musician of all time? Possibly.

So, maybe I'm not a famous singer now and no where near becoming a singer, but hey...gotta dream big right?

(And yes, I've failed for the past two days as far as blogging and taking pictures. But I think I'm done with that...I just don't have time soooo oh well!)

Adios amigos,

Day Three.

Plain and simple. I hate Mondays. Especially when it means back to work after a nice, long vacation. Hmph.

Sunday, January 2, 2011

Day Two.

Cats have it so easy don't they? I feel like this is about how my day was too, so relaxing! Football, a family game of Tripoley, a movie, and a fire. A perfect last day of relaxation before heading back to work tomorrow!

Day One.

I have failed at blogging in the last half of December. But in my defense, I have been all over the east coast and have had about zero time for the computer. Pittsburgh, Virginia, Orlando...I'm all traveled out. But now I am home and relaxing...until work starts Monday. Womp.

So a while ago I heard of someone who took a picture every day and then blogged about it. I always thought this was a cool idea, to have a year in pictures documented. So...I've decided to try it! Although sometimes I completely fail at blogging, I still think I can do it, I'm determined! So, here goes!

Ok so want to know why I fail?? I had all of this written in here and all I had to do was add the picture, and then I FORGOT! We had family over so I didn't get on the computer the rest of the night last night and so this blog totally left my mind. I am the worst blogger in the world. But luckily, I do have a picture from yesterday, so we're all good...I'll just have to have two posts today!

Picture 1 of 365:

These are the most AMAZING sweet treats I have ever tasted. My grandmom makes them and has passed them on to the rest of the family and I am so in love with them. Mint and chocolate all in one? Yes please! And in case you were wondering, my brother was the master mind behind this lovely 'tower' display. He would.

So there's my picture from January 1, 2011...look for one from today later on!

Ciao,
B.Hines
