In the summer of 2009 I went on a Study Abroad trip to Florence, Italy. It was then that I really started to consider learning more about photography. I took a class while I was there, and learned so much of the basics (and a lot about photoshop). In December of 2009 I finally splurged and bought my very own DSLR, a Nikon D5000. Since then I've taken countless classes, read a number of books, convinced my friends to be my models, taken engagment pictures, been a 2nd shooter at two weddings, splurged again to upgrade to a D7000, interned with a local photographer, and photographed countless other events...
Photography has begun to mean so much to me. It's more than just a point and shoot thing. It's more than just learning the basics. It's about interacting with your surroundings, telling a story, and expressing yourself.
